Support Linda in the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute Walk

Boston, May 10th

Published on May 10, 2026

Let's Help Linda!

A Grandmothers Member Working for a Great Cause!

Linda has always been a great member of Grandmothers Against Gun Violence and now it is our turn to show her how much we appreciate her work over the years by supporting her walk as we have done with other teams on this walk in the past. So now a few words from Linda on her choice of supporting the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute Walk in Boston on May 10th - Mother's Day.

"Holy cow! Time marches on and I am turning 80 in a few weeks. I have decided to celebrate my birthday by doing something I love - walking - for a cause I wholeheartedly support - the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute.

My husband, daughter and her family and I will be walking as team ‘Linda’s League for Louis’ in the 30th annual Mother’s Day Walk for Peace. Please consider donating to our team. Any amount is appreciated to support this group who works with survivors of gun violence victims.

I have been volunteering with Grandmothers Against Gun violence for nearly a decade, and despite the expanding gun culture and gun ownership in this country, we continue to promote the 'gun sense' message. The gun lobby would love it if we backed down, but WE WON’T! So, let’s all do something in whatever small way we can to help fund the work of the Peace Institute and to help me celebrate my ‘big’ birthday.

The first link below will bring you to my march where you can donate to our march or sign up to walk.

The second link will bring you to the site where you can learn all about the details of the march and the Institute.

Thank you for all your support. When we advocate and walk, we remember and stand with all the victims and survivors of gun violence.

Linda's League for Louis"

Grandmothers Against Gun Violence 5th Annual "Home" Baked Goods Sale

Village Improvement Society Bandstand Rte 6A Dennis

Published on June 06, 2026

11:00 am - 12:00 pm Rain Or Shine

Live music - bring a chair and settle in!

In honor of Gun Violence Awareness Weekend, we come together to honor the communities shattered by gun violence and unite in our call to end gun violence and raise awareness for the issue. Every day, 120 people are shot and killed in this country and hundreds more are wounded.

As with almost everything we do, we count on our members and Board to make things happen for Grandmothers. And this is a great opportunity with summer traffic starting. We can bring awareness to gun violence prevention weekend as well as remember those who are gone from us through senseless gun violence.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP!

WE NEED HOMEMADE BAKED GOODS!

Pies...cookies, bars, rolls, scones, (maybe two things?)

Nothing that needs refrigeration. Please ask your friends and family to bake as well - you don't need to be a member to contribute!

When does it need to be there?

Please deliver by 10:00 on June 6 (Saturday) to the location above.

Labeling if possible: Please label the item with what it is and if there are nuts or allergens.

(We will also label onsite.)

Please email karenderusha@gmail.com by May 15th and let her know what you plan to bring.

HELP US PROMOTE THE SALE!

Help us spread the word by putting up 8 x 11 posters anywhere possible (post offices, dry cleaners, churches, libraries, etc.) sharing the poster graphic on social media and telling your friends and family.

We will have posters printed and ready to hang or you can print them off our home page soon. POSTERS WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE AT MAY 6th MEETING.

If you can pick up posters, email waldsonthecape@comcast.net with date and time and we can leave them out for you.

HELP WITH SET UP OR CLEAN UP!

Many hands make light work. If baking isn't your thing, we can always use help with set up, pricing of food and break down. Set up is 9:30 am.

Please email capecodgagv@gmail.com and let us know how you would like to help, and we will get back in touch with instructions.

We need your help for this to be successful!

Massachusetts Ballot Questions

Progressive Guide

Published on October 09, 2026

Progressive Mass Guide to the

2026 Statewide Ballot Questions

• VOTE YES ON 1 to expand the public records law to cover the Governor and the

Legislature. We’re the only state in the country that doesn’t do that already. Let the sunlight in.

• VOTE YES ON 2 to enable public defenders to collectively bargain. Every worker

deserves to have a union, and public defenders, who are often overworked and underpaid, should be no exception.

•VOTE NO ON 3 to prevent private equity billionaires from rigging our election system in their favor. Top-two primaries empower corporate PACs and self-funders, disadvantage grassroots candidates, and turn MAGA voters into election kingmakers.

• VOTE YES ON 4 to enable voters to register to vote or update their registration on

Election Day. No eligible voter should be turned away due to a clerical error, and this reform is one of the most proven ways to increase voter turnout.

• VOTE NO ON 5 to protect our state’s ability to invest in health care, transportation, and public education. Billionaires would get to enrich themselves, while the rest of us suffer from underfunded public services.

• VOTE YES on 7 to enable more starter homes across the Commonwealth. We have a housing crisis, and large lot size requirements mean fewer homes are able to be built.

• VOTE NO on 8 to protect our state’s cannabis laws. We said NO to the war on drugs back in 2016, and we shouldn’t turn back time and destroy local economies.

• VOTE YES ON 9 to protect our state’s landmark gun safety law, which cracked down on ghost guns, banned machine gun conversion devices, and strengthened gun violence data collection.

Progressive Mass has not yet taken a position on Question 6, which would dedicate the portion of the sales tax revenue collected from sporting goods, RVs, and golf courses to a nature and water conservation fund.
