If you ever wondered what you would’ve done if you were a German Citizen as Hitler came to power, you don’t have to look far: it is what you are doing now.

Two American citizens were shot to death in Minneapolis in recent days by ICE. Neither of them fit the mold that Trump/MAGA says needs to worry.

Lesson: If you thought you were safe from the acts of the administration, you are wrong:

• because you’re white, you’re wrong

• because you aren’t an immigrant, you’re wrong

• because aren’t Somali, you’re wrong

• because you aren’t LGBTQ+, you’re wrong

• because you don’t live near a border, you’re wrong

• because you live in a Blue state, you’re wrong

The American people must demand an end to this

unconstitutional takeover by Trump’s unlawful,

uncontrolled militia.

Hi, I’m a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is ______.

I’m calling to urge the Senator to filibuster the upcoming Homeland Security appropriations bill unless [choose one or more from the following]

1. There are significant changes to how ICE operates, so they aren’t behaving like lawless thugs

2. ICE’s funding bump from the One Big Beautiful Bill is erased and returned to last year’s levels of $10B annually (down from the larger $37.5B)

3. ICE is completely defunded and operations are paused until the agency can be vetted/reformed

4. ICE is shut down entirely

I’m sick of watching lawful citizens and noncitizens being arrested at their jobs, assaulted at peaceful protests, pulled out of their vehicles, blinded by munitions, and getting shot and killed. It’s un-American. We need qualified, well-trained officers to enforce only immigration law — not rogue, unidentified agents detaining, assaulting, shooting, and murdering people. Congress needs to step up and use its power in the Constitution to rein in ICE.

First, I understand that Rep. Robin Kelly filed articles of impeachment against Kristi Noem. I want the Congressmember to sign on. Noem’s DHS is completely out of control, lawless, and dangerous. They are killing and maiming people, poisoning babies, terrorizing communities, and lying about what they’re doing. Noem needs to go and ICE needs to be abolished or dramatically reformed.

Speaking of which, I understand that Representative Seth Moulton just introduced a bill that would reallocate funding for ICE to fund ACA premium tax credits instead. This is a no-brainer. I expect the Congressmember to co-sponsor this legislation. Thanks.

There is a move to block a bill which would defund DHS because of ICE's actions. One vote happened yesterday. Congress is out of session until February 23rd. There will be another vote after that. (See the link below for The Guardian article describing Democrats' proposed reforms)

National Indivisible has also asked members to support anti-ICE legislation. (See the links below for their call for action and instructions.)

Senator Elizabeth Warren wants to take back the billions in funding already allocated to DHS; please support her in that effort (202-224-4543)

Support the PROTECT ACT which would place limits on DHS/ICE activities in our state. (See the link below for more information from Massachusetts Peace Action.)

There has been some movement in MA on protections from ICE last week. The Governor proposed a bill, and the Black and Latino Caucus submitted a new bill called the PROTECT ACT. It is urgent that action is taken before the ICE surge comes to Massachusetts. In addition, the Safe Communities Act and Dignity Not Deportation are still on the table.

Please call immediately and often:

Ask them to pass any and all of the above legislation quickly, BEFORE the coming ICE surge.

Mission Statement:

To walk from Pilgrim’s First Landing Park in Provincetown, MA to the Plymouth Correctional Facility in Plymouth, MA. We will be walking the entire length of Cape Cod and part of the South Shore (70 miles in 5 days) to increase awareness about the treatment of undocumented immigrants at the Plymouth Correctional Facility, while also raising money to make sure these immigrants are provided basic human rights while incarcerated. This walk is also a pilgrimage for my friend as I, as we are both practicing Christians who believe there is a lot of power to stop injustice by using both prayer and action. However, this walk is for people of all faiths, creeds, political affiliations and identities who care about the protection of basic human rights.

Background:

Back in the Spring of 2019, my friend Connor and I decided to walk from Boston to The Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA. What was originally supposed to be a hundred and forty mile long pilgrimage to a shrine, turned into a broader goal of bringing awareness to issues at the United States/Mexico border. Our walk coincided with the controversies arising from the U.S. government immigration policy of separating children from their parents at ICE detention centers. We completed the walk in nine days and both Connor and I agree that it is still one of our most meaningful experiences. The walk in 2019 and the continued mistreatment and abuse of undocumented immigrants has inspired us to walk again.

The Plymouth Correctional Facility has a contract with ICE, which means that undocumented immigrants with no criminal record are being housed in the same facilities as convicted criminals. The amount of reported human rights violations has increased dramatically at the facility since 2020, specifically in regards to the treatment of undocumented immigrants.

Goals:

#1 Working to bring awareness to the specific injustices happening at Plymouth Correctional Facility

#2 Raising money for BIJAN (Boston Immigration Justice Accompaniment Network)

#3 Through our pilgrimage, growing in our Christian faith and building meaningful connections with both God and all of the people we meet.

#4 Eventually, the ending of the contract between ICE and the Plymouth Correctional Facility.

What You Can Do

Donate money to our GoFundMe or Venmo, that will be given directly to the non-profit BIJAN (Boston Immigration Justice Accompaniment Network). We are hoping to collaborate with BIJAN throughout the walk and all money raised will be given to support their mission. If you are interested in learning more about them, please see the link below.

Raise awareness of the injustices taking place to undocumented immigrants at Plymouth Correctional Facility. Share the information below with people you know (friends, family, neighbors). Additionally, tell people about our pilgrimage. Use social media and word of mouth to inspire other people to donate to BIJAN and bring awareness to this issue.

Walk with us. Walk a mile, walk 70, we’re just happy to have you along. Solidarity. One thing to make clear: we are not responsible for providing lodging, food, etc. Our major goals here are the following: working to bring awareness to the specific injustices in Plymouth, raising money for BIJAN and continuing to develop our own personal relationships with God. This is a peaceful walk and no unruly behavior is permitted. Finally, while we love for people to walk with us in solidarity, we are not interested in gathering a large group. Come as an individual or with a friend, but we would prefer to keep the numbers manageable.

Data driven report that focuses on who is incarcerated/held at the ICE facility within the Plymouth Correctional Facility. According to the report, 87% of ICE detainees at Plymouth Correctional Facility have no criminal convictions. Only 58 of 449 beds (12.9%) are held by individuals with any threat level classification.
