Tim Weiner, an esteemed, prize-winning journalist and author of two books on the CIA, recently discussed the impact of Trump’s administration on the CIA.

“Under the present administration there has been an ideological purge at the CIA, as well as at the FBI and at State. You cannot be promoted, you cannot rise to power, unless you answer three questions correctly in the view of the Trump administration. Who won the 2020 election? What did you think of the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol? And who did you vote for in 2024?” Weiner continues, “[Trump cannot be briefed. His mind is made up and he does not want to be confused with facts.”

Weiner concludes with this warning:

“.....{T]he cumulative effects of these purges leave the United States in a state of danger that approaches the months leading up to the 9/11 attacks 25 years ago. Trump has...destroyed the cybersecurity offices and architectures that were set up after the Russians attacked our election and our democracy to help elect him in 2016....The next attack will not look like the last one. It may be silent. It may be unseen. But it is coming.”
