Trump has retracted protections established by Biden. The Massachusetts Legislature is taking up (again) a bill
to protect data in the commonwealth. The ACLU has set up a link for people to urge their legislators
to support a strong bill.
....But here's something that might shock you: Right now, Massachusetts has NO data privacy legislation on the books. Combined with inaction by Congress and profiteering in the White House, this lack of privacy protection grows more threatening by the day.
Tell lawmakers: Fix the data privacy gap in Massachusetts! Pass strong legislation to protect our most sensitive information!
Every day, the average person produces an enormous amount of data that reveals extremely intimate details about their lives. This data can be used by bad actors and unscrupulous tech companies to do a great deal of harm. Despite all this, Massachusetts has no data privacy law to protect us from this harm. That has to change.
Right now, state lawmakers are considering several provisions that could form a comprehensive data privacy bill. We need to make sure that this bill is as strong as possible when it comes up for a vote. That's why we need your help.
